About the Event
Pull up a seat at the island for The Diaspora Table—an intimate, evening-long culinary journey celebrating Juneteenth through the rich, vibrant flavors of the Black diaspora.
This isn't just a dinner; it's a "Chef's Table" experience honoring freedom, resilience, and culinary heritage. From West Africa to the Caribbean and the American South, we have curated a menu that traces the roots of our ancestors, re-imagined entirely through a modern, plant-based lens.
Gather around our open kitchen island as we share the history behind the ingredients, demonstrate key techniques live, and break bread together family-style.
The Plant-Forward Menu
The Welcome: Chilled house-brewed Sorrel (hibiscus and ginger) paired with crispy, southern-fried Oyster Mushrooms.
The Ceremony: A live-slicing of our Showstopper Southern-Style Cornbread, served warm with rich, slow-simmered Stewed Greens and smoky pot likker.
The Feast (Family Style): Fragrant, smoky Jollof Rice, charred Jerk Tofu, sweet caramelized Maduros (Plantains), and our signature baked plant-based Mac & Cheese.
The Sweet End: A decadent Bread Pudding drizzled with a sweet Sorrel-red wine reduction.
